Barcode Generator
Generate Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 39, and ITF-14 barcodes in your browser.
Formats with check digits validate your value. The tool encodes the value you provide; it does not assign an official product identifier.
ABOUT THIS TOOL
What Barcode Generator does
Create a linear barcode from a value using Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 39, or ITF-14. The selected format applies its own content rules and check-digit validation. Preview the SVG and download it as SVG or PNG; generation stays in your browser.
Use Code 128 for compact general-purpose labels, Code 39 for compatible inventory workflows, or EAN-13, UPC-A, and ITF-14 where a system specifically expects those retail or carton formats. A generated symbol does not assign an official product identifier.
How to use Barcode Generator
- Select a barcode format that matches the scanners or labeling workflow you need.
- Enter a value allowed by that format; numeric retail formats require valid digit lengths and check digits.
- Generate and inspect the barcode, then download SVG or PNG and test it with your intended scanner.
ANSWERS AND DETAILS
Frequently asked questions
Which barcode format should I use?
Choose the format required by the receiving scanner, inventory system, or labeling standard. Code 128 supports a broad range of characters; EAN-13 and UPC-A are numeric retail formats; ITF-14 is commonly used for outer cartons; Code 39 is used in compatible inventory and industrial systems.
Does this generator issue an official UPC or EAN product number?
No. It encodes the value you enter and checks basic format validity, but it does not assign or certify product identifiers. Obtain identifiers through the relevant standards organization or your business system.
Why is my number rejected?
EAN-13 and UPC-A require the correct number of digits and a matching check digit. ITF-14 also requires a valid 14-digit value. Check for spaces or missing digits, or choose Code 128 if you need to encode a different value.
